BioMass sensor
Joint development of Aber Instruments
and Applikon Biotechnology - a unique sensor of biomass that is
fully compatible with the controller ez-Control. Measurement of the
concentration of viable cells in the medium allows us to study the
metabolism and the ability of cells to synthesize proteins in all
stages of cultivation. The technology is ideal for measuring the
amount of living yeast cells, bacteria, animals, plants and other
biomass.
Biomass sensor is fully compliant with GAMP4.
Biomass sensor working principle is that the electrical capacity
of living cells is always greater than the electrical capacity of
the dead.
Typical applications requiring the use of biomass sensor:
Bacteria: The diameter of up to 3 microns (eg, E. Coli)
Microbes: Usually a diameter of about 6 microns (eg, yeast)
Cell culture: Diameter 10-15 microns (eg, CHO)
